We've been ill almost all autumn, four times already. Just colds, varying from annoying little sniffles to really nasty companions. A week ago, the day these photos were taken, started the latest one. Better now. Sniff.

Meillä on sairasteltu pitkin syksyä, neljästi jo. Flunssia vaan, ärsyttävistä pikku nuhista oikein tympeisiin oireyhdistelmiin. Reilu viikko sitten alkoi viimeisin tauti, juuri kun pitkästä aikaa uskaltauduimme ulos ja nämä kuvatkin napattiin. Onneksi jo helpottaa. Sniff vaan.

We've been leafing through Milk Déco, the recent interior decoration issue of Milk -magazine, with O. At first glance it seems to be quite an inspiring and diverse collection of homes, must get a better look at it soon. That grey and silver cover with all the bright coloured spots makes me happy and longing for simple, monochromatic, cool spaces.

All the snow came heavily down from the southern side of our roof, a sure sign of spring.

Milk Déco kolahti postilaatikkoon, ja sitä on lapsen kanssa nyt selailtu oikein päin ja ympäri ämpäri (uusi sanapari O:lle). Ensi vilkaisun perusteella lehti näyttää olevan varsin kiinnostava kokoelma hyvinkin erilaisia koteja eri puolilta maailmaa. Täytyy perehtyä opukseen paremmin pikapuoliin. Harmaahopeinen kansi kirkkaine väriläikkineen ihastuttaa juuri nyt. Janoan yksinkertaista, yksiväristä ja viileää tilaa. Meillä on liikaa tavaraa ja ihan liikaa beigevihreää tapettia.

Lumet raahautuivat raskaasti alas katon eteläpuolelta. Varma kevään merkki.

angry days - kiukkupäiviä

The little boy gets angry all the time nowadays, or so it seems. No food is edible for him, he doesn't want to sit in the shopping cart at the supermarket, coming in from the yard doesn't suit him at all. And prohibitions, they are just intolerable. His favourite word: no. No, no, no!

Oh well. Where and whom does he get it from, I wonder...?

Lapsi tuntuu kiukkuavan ihan kaikesta nykyään. Ei kelpaa ruoka, ostoskärryssä ei voi istua eikä pihalta lähteä sisälle. Ja kieltoja, niitä varsinkaan ei voi sietää, ei. Ei, ei, ei!

Hohhoijaa. Nyt on tässä perheessä hermot tiukoilla itse kullakin. 

sunday moods and swimwear

I'm feeling quiet now, but alright. Grateful, actually. For this home, for my little family, for tiny beauties of this life. Happy Sunday thoughts on my mind.

P.S. I've ordered myself something special from here: swimwear! I realized after giving birth to O. that my bikini days were over. I'm going to be a tankini girl from now on, hehee! Me, pale me, who never tans...

three crowns - kolme kruunua

My treasures this morning: the sweetest sunshine and some happy finds from a store I never thought would interest me - the Swedish army's remnant store. Ha, they do sell also other things than armoured cars! I bought linen towels and pillow cases, thin wire in little wooden bobbins and pretty glasses for three crowns each. Two industrial lamps, a wooden trunk and some wooden boxes also came home with us. That store could become a real favourite for me, I think. They have such simple, good quality, durable stuff and very reasonably priced! I'm still coveting more of those large linen towels, the fabric is so beautiful and could be made to a fine loose cover for our sofa. Or almost anything else, for that matter.

Aamun aarteet: suloisin auringonpaiste ja joukko onnekkaita löytöjä puodista, jonka en koskaan olisi uskonut minua kiinnostavan - Ruotsin armeijan ylijäämäkaupasta. Ei ne myykään pelkkiä panssariautoja, ei! Pellavapyyhkeitä ja tyynyliinoja ostin, ja pikkuisia rautalankarullia. Niin ja sieviä laseja kolmella kruunulla kappale. Kaksi teollisuuslamppua, puuarkku ja muutama -laatikkokin raahattiin mukaan. Kaupasta voi tulla oikein suosikkini, luulen. Yksinkertaista, kunnollista ja kestävän oloista tavaraa oikein kohtuulliseen hintaan! Nyt vielä ahnehdin, josko hakisi lisää noita suuria pellavapyyhkeitä, vai lakanoitako lienevät. Kangas on oikein kaunista sidokseltaan, ja niistä saisi ommeltua uuden irtopäällisen sohvaan. Tai vaikka mitä vaan muutakin, jos niikseen tulee.

Saturday. Adventuring in the local antique shop, all three of us together ("oh, watch him -- don't touch that -- that's too fragile to hold, dear"). Carrying a table upstairs from cellar and - after seeing it really doesn't fit anywhere - back again. Lounging about on the sofa with the sun all warm behind my back. Very good.

A lazy Saturday thought: the livingroom will be hot in summer.

Lauantai. Miehellä poikkeuksellisesti vapaata, seikkailemista läheisessä antiikkipuodissa koko perhe yhdessä ("vahdi poikaa --- älähän koske siihen -- tuo on turhan heppoinen sinun käsiisi, kulta"). Pöydän kantamista kellarista yläkertaan ja takaisin - ei se vaan sovi mihinkään, ei. Köllöttelyä sohvalla, aurinko lämpöisenä selän takana. Niin hyvä.

Laiska lauantaiajatus: olohuone tulee olemaan kesällä kuuma.

Pretty Gingham tagged me to show the 4th photo in my 4th photo folder. I've done this before, and I had the same problem then: my 4th folder is titled self-portraits but I'm still not sure if I want to show my face here in the web... So, here's a black and white version of one the photos in that folder (not done now but a couple of years ago for some work related thing). And yes, it was a bad hair day.

Pretty Gingham haastoi näyttämään neljännen kuvan neljännestä kuvakansiostani. Olen tehnyt tämän jutun aikaisemminkin, ja ongelma oli silloin sama kuin nytkin: se neloskansio on omakuvakansioni, enkä vieläkään tiedä tahdonko näyttää naamaani täällä netissä.... Siispä tässä on mustavalkoversio yhdestä kansion kuvasta, tehty pari vuotta sitten johonkin työjuttuun liittyen. Ja juu-u, tukka on tosi pahasti.
