from gloves to brooches - sormikkaista rintarosseiksi

I sort of hoped my gloves would stand a wash in 40 degrees Celsius. They were in desperate need of cleaning, there were no other woollen clothes to put to the washing machine so that I could use the gentle wool washing programme and I was just too lazy to wash them by hand.

The tiny felted pair of gloves I dug from the depths of the machine afterwards proved my hopes wrong. Feeling quilty of ruining a perfectly fine product made me turn it into a new one, or two actually. My spring outfit is now embellished with these little brooches; the bigger one is pinned to my coat and the smaller one to my off-white beret. Very girlish!

Pikkuruinen huopunut sormikaspari, jonka jälkeenpäin koneesta kaivelin todisti toiveeni turhaksi. Syyllinen olo tuli moisesta hölmöydestä - pilata nyt tuolla lailla ihan hyvät hansikkaat. En sitten kehdannut noita surullisia pötkylöitä roskiinkaan heittää vaan ompelin niistä rintaneulat kevätasuni täydennykseksi. Isomman kiinnitin takkiin ja pienempi koristaa vaaleaa baskeria. Kovasti tyttömäinen on tämän äidin olo noissa asusteissa!

Super cute!

A beret is great to hide under if you have no time to wash your hair! The embellishment will provide further distraction :)

Hi Maria! Oh I can so sympathise with your washing situation! I too have proceeded to do things I know will not turn out well just because ... but your new brooches are a wonderful save and you're tagged! :-)

Onnea kutistuksesta! Melkein tekisi mieli laittaa tilausta tulemaan! Ensin pitäisi tosin kutistaa ne hanskat :)

Ihana idea, minulta olisi hanskat menneet roskikseen. Todella kaunis lopputulos!

Woi, miten söpöt! Vieläkö sinua harmittaa, että sormikkaat huopuivat? Niillä oli selvästi pyrkimys korkeammalle, kauniimpaan, parempaan... ;-)
Kevättä rintaan!

Kiitos kaikille hauskoista kommenteista!

Thank you all for the brooch love! I have to say I'm not so sorry for shrinking the gloves anymore :).

Chickpea, you are so very right! I certainly have more bad and dirty hair days now than before baby O. and the beret has improved my looks many a times already...

Lotta, tervetuloa!

Lily Boot, thanks for tagging me! I'll post my random facts as soon as I can decide which ones I dare to reveal ;).
